The yoga gardeners

Suzanna Thell BEd (Early Childhood); DipYoga
Picture
Suzanna founded the Yoga Garden in 2005, and has since been teaching yoga, relaxation and meditation to children, teenagers and adults in the ACT.  She facilitates workshops for teachers in the early formative and primary years and in high schools/colleges. She offers teachers practical ways of how to incorporate yoga and relaxation into the classroom, including stress management skills so they can lead from a place of calm empowerment.

Suzanna has a Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood  and has completed the four-year teacher training course from the International School of Dru Yoga. She has undertaken training in various kids yoga courses—Radiant Child Yoga Program Level I, the Mini Yogis teacher training and the Rainbow Kids Yoga 3 day intensive. Over the past twenty years Suzanna has worked as preschool teacher/director, music & movement teacher, early childhood educator, yoga teacher & tutor on the Dru Yoga teacher training courses.

Suzanna is a published author of a children's yoga story titled Deer-lightful. She is co-author of the Dru Kids and Teens teacher training manual and primary trainer of this post graduate course.

Favourite things to grow
Her passion lies in developing in children and teenagers a delicious, healthy sense of who they are and how to awaken them to the greatness of their own potential.
My goal is to energise, strengthen and empower the trio of body, mind and soul so that young people grow up with all the skills they need to live a fruitful life of balance and harmony with peaceful, happy hearts.

Vanessa BAppSc (OT); Child Care Certificate; DipYoga
Picture
As an Occupational therapist Vanessa has worked in a variety of Community therapist positions with children and adults alike in Canberra. As a paediatric therapist she has experienced much satisfaction helping children move towards their highest potential.

In 2011 Vanessa completed her Dru Yoga teacher training course in Canberra and now teaches adults in the community and classes with children aged 2- 5 years as part of the Yoga Garden program.

Favourite things to grow
Vanessa's interests include human development on all levels, the physical body and its amazing capabilities, biology, art and craft, story and nature as sources of learning and self expression.

For young children everything is new and that wonderment in the world around them is delightful and helps to fuel imagination and appreciation in the world around them: ie nature, their friends and themselves. Teaching yoga to young children through music, language and movement is a very special experience/memory for children and teachers alike.

Gini Eagle BA Swk reiki master, Dip Yoga and Meditation
Picture
In 2004 Gini co founded Ingelara Retreat a biodynamic farm and healing/yoga centre just outside Canberra, her aim being to provide a space for children and families to reconnect with themselves, each other and nature. At Ingelara she runs personal empowerment programs in conjunction with various youth and welfare agencies and outreach programs in Canberra.

Gini has a Bachelor in Social/Youth work & psychology. She is a Dru yoga and Meditaton teacher, a Reiki Master and a Children’s author. She teaches yoga to kids, from pre-school through to high school, and adults. Gini is also a horse whisperer, sharing her love of horses through Equine therapy for people of all ages.

Favourite things to grow
Gini has a  passion  to  energise, educate and empower people, especially children to realise their highest potential through the tools and techniques she's gathered over the past 20 years (a very rich foundation) . Gini believes that teaching yoga to children helps provide them with tools for life...
Yoga instills resilience, strength and flexibility of mind and body. It gives powerful tools for stress relief through relaxation, mindfulness and breath techniques. The future of our planet depends on a new generation of self determined individuals who are compassionate, creative and aware.

and
continuing their culture and connection to land.
